Irma Relief Fund

irma fund facebook (2)

As the effects of Hurricane Irma continue to ripple through our community, ArtCenter/South Florida, Art Basel and its parent group MCH have partnered on a relief fund for visual artists from Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys.

The South Florida Visual Artists Irma Relief Fund is now accepting applications for up to $500 in relief from the storm. The application is open now through Dec. 22, and requests will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis to cover damage to artist workspaces, artworks, materials or lost income.

To apply, artists can go to Employees1st.org/sfva, where they can find a simplified application that asks for details on the damage the artist suffered, supporting documents and a CV to demonstrate the applicant is a working artist. The fund is being administered by The Baton Rouge Area Foundation.

While ArtCenter typically limits its funding to Miami-Dade, artists in Monroe County were hit so hard, the center wanted to invite them to participate in the fund.

NOTE: When you register to apply, please choose as your “employer” the name of the fund: The South Florida Visual Artist Irma Relief Fund.

Alumni Grants

At ArtCenter, we love to support our alumni through exhibition opportunities, international residencies and studio tours. Now, we’re offering grants to help you with the supplies for your work.

ArtCenter will be giving away $1,000 materials grant to one lucky alum, per quarter.

The application process is simple. All you have to do is provide us with your contact information. There are no other requirements. We will randomly draw the name of the artist during our Resident Night on March 7, and then at other public events.

Registering once makes you eligible for all future drawings. Please share with your alumni friends. This time, if you refer an alum to apply for the materials grant, you can get an additional entry in our drawing. (They must be new applicants). Have them note your name on the application form.

Thanks!
