ART CAMP Dates for 2011

WHAT IS ART CAMP?
Art Camp is eight weeks of visual arts fun for young people, ages 6-14. Campers work in small groups organized by age and are led by artists who guide them in drawing, painting, printing, and other art techniques. Small class sizes and talented staff members create an atmosphere for learning, creativity and fun. Previous art experience or skills are not required, but campers should be enthusiastic and interested in art.

WHY ART CAMP?
Art Camp encourages your camper to:

  • Explore his/her imagination
  • Develop critical-thinking skills
  • Learn new artistic skills, techniques, and media
  • Study with some of South Florida’s best teaching artists

WHERE?
924 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139 (Ph#305-674-8278)

WHO?
Art Camp staff members are experienced teachers and artists from our community. They are chosen based on their prior teaching experience, their strength in working with children, their artistic talent and their devotion to art education.

AGE REQUIREMENTS
To attend Art Camp, students must be 6 years old by the first day of the Camp session they are registering for. Proof of age must be submitted along with the registrations forms and payment to complete the registration process.

Students younger than this are not ready conceptually and developmentally for our program. Sorry, we cannot make exceptions. If your child is 5 or younger, we hope that you will join us for a future Art Camp.

Students should also have age-appropriate maturity and social skills. Individual classes are 60 minutes long. Students in this age-range (6-14) generally do well at staying absorbed in the instruction for the duration of these classes. Students are expected to come to camp knowing how to be respectful towards their instructors, fellow students, and ArtCenter staff.
