VICENTA CASAN 810 Lincoln Road, Studio 110 Photography Vicenta Casañ was born in Valencia, Spain (1972); she lives and works in Miami Beach, Florida. She has worked from the ArtCenter since 2001. She received her Bachelors of Arts at the Facultad de B.B.A.A. de San Carlos in Valencia, Spain. In 2007 she had a second Miami solo at Diana Lowenstein Fine Arts titled Miami: Tropical Depression. Her most recognized work, Castles in the Air, focuses on manmade structures in Miami, reaching towards the heavens resembling glamorous kingdoms within the clouds. Casan’s newest body of work tries to eliminate ideas of pleasure by adding elements of uncertainty and ambiguity. In 2006 Casañ was included in the Miami Art Museum’s critically acclaimed exhibition Miami in Transition and is in the Miami Art Museum permanent collection. Casañ has had exhibitions at Diana Lowenstein (Miami) , Lyle O. Reitzel ( Santo Domingo), Bernice Steinbaum Gallery (Miami), Dot Fity one (Miami), Circuito Arte Contemporáneo, Becas Art Visual (Spain); Galería Edgar Neville (Spain); La Llotgeta (Spain); Centro de Cultura La Beneficencia (Spain), La Cite, (Paris), Estampa (Spain), Art Basel Miami Beach (Miami), Buenos Aires Foto (Argentina), MACO (Mexico), Chicago Contemporary fair (Chicago), Art Palm Beach (Palm beach), CIRCA (Puerto Rico).
