Project 924 | 924 Lincoln Road, Second Floor, Miami Beach, FL 33139
The inaugural exhibition for Project 924, As The Ferris Wheel Turns, features works by Anthony Ardavin, Katerina Friderici, Alexander Guerra, Regina Jestrow, Hugo Moro, John Sanchez and Damian Sarno. As The Ferris Wheel Turns utilizes the carnival as a backdrop to tell a universal story of life, love and loss. Works that appear whimsical and amusing are also quite poetic and profound. The exhibition includes multigenerational artists working in different mediums to tie the narrative together.
As part of the exhibition, Regina Jestrow presents The Patch Project, an environmentally sustainable barter patching project using scrap fabrics from past works that allows the participants to hold on to their special garments. Alexander Guerra creates a performance installation with his new works, Hybrid Bunnies. Utilizing Subtropics’ Fluxus Piano, Guerra creates a game of darts that allows the participant to try to hit the bull’s eye 2 of out of 3 times in order to win one of his Hybrid Bunny Prizes. During the opening reception, ArtCenter alumna David Rohn, will present The Amazing Ultran, a simulation of an automatronic fortune teller like the ones that were a fixture of Carnivals, Pier Parks and County Fairs in the last century.
