This class will teach the student  traditional Drawing & Painting Techniques for Jewelry design.

The student will be taught how to Design 1:1 scale, Top, Side, and Front views.

Additionally, students will be shown how to create realistic jewel and metal renderings with the use of gouache paints. The student will be responsible for a study collection of Gemstone renderings, as well as a small suite collection of their own design. This class will allow the dedicated student to develop a new an uncommon technique in the jewelry field. This will enhance designing capabilities, visual understanding of a piece before it is created, and potential production line collection preparation.

New students will learn the basic techniques of jewelry making through the completion of an assigned project. From this project student will learn metal forming, texturing, soldering, stone setting and finishing.  Intermediate and advanced students can also benefit from this class by creating their own projects with the instructor's supervision.  These students can learn about piercing, overlay, married metals and bench-top casting.

Please note: Additional costs for casting will depend on each
student project.  Students will explore working with wax on a small sculptural scale to create wearable art. This relaxing class will teach you to mold and manipulate wax pieces that will become jewelry through the process of lost wax casting (not done in class). Group demonstrations, individual help and your creativity will provide you with limitless possibilities to create unique pieces with this fun process. No previous experience necessary. Techniques include: manipulating wax with melting techniques, filing, drilling and free form sculpture.
