Emer Grant (Los Angeles/Derry)

Emer Grant is a curator, artist and writer with a B.A in Critical Fine Art Practice from the University of Brighton, an M.A in History of Art from the University of York and recently an M.A in Curatorial Studies from CCS Bard College, where her thesis exhibition at the Hessel Museum featured works by Simon Denny, Metahaven and Holly Herndon. Grant specializes in curating new media, sound based works, technologically led enquiry and exploring the critical polemics across art and activism/institutional critique. Over the course of more than ten years working across the museum and gallery sector, Grant has contributed to many exhibitions in curatorial, production and editorial roles, working with artists, collectives and organizations such as: Resonance FM, Mark Wallinger, Santiago Sierra, Candice Breitz, Universal Everything, Grizedale Arts, Pollinaria, Future Farmers, The Ulster Orchestra, Blast Theory, Mike Figgis, Mira Calix and Punch Drunk, among others. Grant produced a publication and event for Northern Ireland at the 2013 Venice Biennial and was an Associate Curator of the 2014 Sonorities Festival (Belfast). From 2015-2016 she was an Editor of Accessions.org and is currently based in L.A writing freelance and working on independent curatorial projects
