Peter Hammar was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden and has a background in advertising as an Art Director in New York. Between 1998 and 2002 Peter worked in New York City, exhibiting nationally and abroad. Peter has been featured in The New York Times, Elle Interior and Plaza Interior magazines. He is an Exhibiting Life Time Member at The National Arts Club in New York and is currently working on his MFA from Florida International University. His work can be found in several private and corporate collections as well. In his recent paintings Peter explores ready made emotions, a work that he calls cliché crisis.
