Born in the Dominican Republic, Doris Rodriguez began her career as a painter in NYC before relocating to Miami in 2004. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in the US and the Dominican Republic. Doris’s work explores the possibilities of the surface, the medium and the emotive forces of painting. Her current series of paintings draws inspiration from nature and from the ecosystems threatened by modern society. Texture, color, brush stroke, gesture, layers, light and shadow are an ongoing obsession in her primary medium: oil paint on canvas.
