Small Format

Small Format is a publication designed in tabloid format to keep you informed about the latest exhibitions and projects at ArtCenter/South Florida.

Vol.11: Winter

This volume of small format supplements the exhibition Intertidal by A.S.T. (Alliance of the Southern Triangle). The exhibition refers to the zone between tidal marks, above water at low tide and flooded at high tide. Intertidal speculates new futures for urbanism in the age of sea level rise via a multi-disciplinary experience. The texts in this small format are written by curator Natalia Zuluaga and A.S.T artist and architect Felice Grodin.


Vol. 10: Fall

This volume of small format focuses on the themes and ideas contained within the exhibition On Documentary Abstraction. Each contribution in this volume — by guest curator Rachael Rakes and artists Tomashi Jackson, Richard Ibghy and Marilou Lemmens address expanded forms of visual abstraction and the historical connections between politics and abstract art.


Vol. 9: Summer 

This volume of small format is dedicated to the 24th edition of SUBTROPICS, Miami’s experimental biennial of music and sound art. Each contribution in this volume—by Gustavo Matamoros, Alba Triana, Jennie Gottschalk, Christoph Cox and Pauline Oliveros—serves as an additional resource to the different facets of the festival.

The Fall 2016 issue features essays by Natalia Zuluaga and Domingo Castillo, Vilem Flusser, Diann Bauer and Gerald Nestler.


Vol. 7: Spring
