Turn-Based Press

Turn-Based Press promotes the culture of prints, artists’ books, and works-on-paper, supports those artists whose focus it is to create works falling within those categories, educates both artists and the general public about that culture as well as printmaking and book arts techniques, and facilitates the creation of print-based artworks.

With our move to the ArtCenter/South Florida, our emphasis will be on collaborative editioning, but we’ll also be focusing on artist talks as well as educational presentations and some workshops, in addition to preserving the open-access labs that are a traditional part of ACSF’s printmaking offerings.

The Turn-Based Press Co-Directors, Kathleen Hudspeth and Thom Wheeler Castillo, are active in the art community, not only as artists, but as printmaking advocates—each speaks to the public on a regular basis in their work as a Miami-Dade College/New World School of the Arts professor and museum educator, respectively, as well as in their roles as artists and specialists.
